Baker's Carpet & Interiors: About us

While in the Navy, George Baker became acquainted with a few carpet installers. When he got out of the service, he took to the profession. After three years as an apprentice he began working for himself. George discovered while installing carpet for various shops in Yakima for several years that he could provide and install carpet with better prices and service. So, in 1980, Baker's carpet was formed. He began with a mobile showroom, by taking samples out to the customer's homes and businesses in the evening, then installing during the day. By May of 1985, he and Joan opened Baker's Carpet at its present location with 1,200 sf. Two years later they added 1,200 more and two years after that an additional 1,500. By 1991 the final addition of 1,800 sf was completed. Baker's started with the hard work, creativity and dreams of George, Joan and Donna Parret. As demands required, we have increased our staff to a full time interior designer, office manager, estimator and warehouse manager. We also have a reputation for employing some of the best installers in Yakima. It is the goal of Bakers' staff to stay ahead of the industry while growing and providing the best possible product and service to our customers!
